Guidewheel New Features and Tip of the Month: October

It’s hard to believe we’re just a few months away from the end of the year! Our team knows how busy these next few months will be and hope the new features and improvements we’re releasing will help you and your team to finish the year strong. If you’d like to learn more or have questions about getting these set up, please reach out to success@guidewheel.com and we will be happy to help.

New feature: Easily Subtract Planned Downtime

You asked for it, and we delivered. Now when downtime is tagged as “planned,” for times when machines will be offline for maintenance or other scheduled reasons, it can automatically be removed from downtime calculations. This gives you an accurate view of unplanned downtime and makes it easy to compare actual runtime to plan across Guidewheel.

In addition, you can now easily “snooze” alerts for periods of planned downtime so that no alerts are triggered during that period of time.

To use this feature, it must be enabled in your Guidewheel platform by a member of our team. Contact us if you’d like to have it turned on.

New Feature: Advanced Filters and Deep Linking

Based on your feedback, we’re improving filters throughout Guidewheel so you can slice your data in more granular ways.

Today the new filters are available on the Issues page, and in the coming weeks you’ll see these new filters added to every page in Guidewheel. In addition, when you share a link to a chart the URL will now contain all the filter information so the recipient will see exactly what you see (tabs, time range, device selection, etc).

Want early access to our Tag Assist feature?

We’re excited to announce that we’ve built an AI-powered tagging engine that will detect downtime events based on historical data. The engine learns and gets smarter the more downtime events it processes, and over time it will greatly reduce reliance on operators by automatically attaching a tag to an issue when the device goes down.

If you’d like to learn more, contact success@guidewheel.com. We’ll be choosing a select group of customers to be first in starting to use this exciting new model before it is made available more broadly. Ideal candidates for this group will have:

  • A history of downtime tagging with enough data to train the model

  • Accurate, verified tags

  • A strong business need for this feature

If you’d like to participate, please get in touch as soon as possible. We expect this program to fill up quickly.

Tip of the month

Did you know that you can realize major benefits just from displaying the Guidewheel Scoreboard in a place that's visible to your team? One of our customers saw a 13% improvement in their runtime within a week of setting up their display! When they dug into it they realized that having the Scoreboard up on the floor created friendly competition and motivated the team to stay in the green, post big numbers, and win the day.
